Manbhum Mela O Boimela
Manbazar is
the old town of earlier Manbhum anchal. Different cast and tribes of people
live here.Unity, fraternity and integrity is the symbol of this locality. The
peoples enjoys mind is the one of the main character for their living
standered.We find them in festivals, cultural functions, theater, night show,
play of football, cricket and similar way they have been enjoying the fair of Manbhum Mela-O-Boimela
since 2003.
First, Manbhum Mela O Boimela had been performed at the place
R.M.I School ground (Radha Madhab Institution) from 31st January2004
to 4th February 2004 and continued to the same place and days every
year till 2011.
Unfortunately this Manbhum Mela O Boimela changed their
original location to the near back side of our renounce Dr.Gopal Chandra Layek
and Dr.Hansda’s residencial place.
Actual location is south side of Manbazar-Kuilapal old road between Manbazar
post office and Manbazar Rural hospital.

General Mela
(fair) and Book fair jointly performed. Not only Grantha bhaban and Pustak bhaban,
many mini book stalls share this book fair. Mina bazar, circus, children
whirlpool, stationary goods, handloom products, and the cultural programs of
well-known artists are the main attraction of this Manbhum Mela O Boimela every
year.
The organizing body of Manbhum Mela O Boimela maintained the scheduled
date and time every year in continuous way, public have got the enough scope of
their yearly planning for these particular days.
31st January is the
inauguration day of Manbhum Mela O Boimela . Peoples gather with artistic
makeup, theme, along with play card, drums and a long road procession is taken place
in this inception day afternoon. Committee selects 1st, 2nd
and 3rd among them and gifted with prize at the last day of Manbhum
Mela.
Inhabitants of Manbazar and near localities
eagerly waiting for these scheduled days of Manbhum Mela O Boimela every year,
like the annual great festival days. It becomes the general mela of Manbhum
anchal. Beginning days of Manbhum Mela O Boimela , all we know the mela was not
politicalized, cast and categorized.
Hindu, Muslim, Christen, upper cast, lower cast there is no difference,
the book fair is for all in general. But history says negative. After the
completion of eight years of age when it faces 2012, mela committee stumbled
with mela location. The time was not for previous M.L.A Samyapiyari Mahato
instead of present Sandhyarani Tudu. Ruling party M.L.A was not called in
respect of her location before the preparation of Manbhum Mela O Boimela 2012.
So the elected and newly formed school managing committee had denied to the
school ground for Manbhum Mela O Boimela. Next place was selected at the outer
south side of the Manbazar-Kuilapal old road between Manbazar post office and
Manbazar rural hospital .The location has been changed for Manbhum Mela O
Boimela since 2012. This mela has been organizing in the leadership of ex-M.L.A
Samyapiyari Mahato.
On the other hand another mela in the name of Rangamati
Milanmela O Boimela has been formed in the leadership of ruling M.L.A
Sandhyarani Tudu in 2012 and was done near the place Sahapukur, Manbazar
college road, locally called Murdmurda
Tanrd.
The Manbhum Mela O Boimela is
spreaded over through approximate two acre agricultural land. Peoples
incoming/outgoing are uncountable during these days, the pic hour of gathering
is 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm each day. More than thirty to forty thousand peoples
visit this mela every day.
Origin of
Manbhum Mela O Boimela was once suddenly made through the flashing of
D.P.E.P activities. Manbazar is under district Purulia, Purulia was fallen
under the scheme of District Primary Education Programe on that time of among
ten districts Govt.Of West Bengal. In the time of Circle Project Co-Ordinator
Manoroma Pal, Manbazar-I C.L.R.C got the chance of activities Book fair and Maa
o Meye mela in the academic session 2003-04.
Responsibility was imposed upon
resource teacher Amitava Misra and Nazrul Islam. On that time Nazrul Islam was
involved with other training program as like as gender issue. Amitava Misra was
said to arrange Book fair. The amount of these programs were allotted total
Twenty thousands (Rs.20,000/-). Amitava Misra taking this charge consulted with
local book seller Manoj Mukharjee (Grantha Bhaban) and Dipak (Bapi) Mukharjee ( Pustak
Bhaban) for their involvement and co-operation.
They also encouraged him and
involve their selves to prepare a book fair in border way. They formed
organizing body in the name of Manbhum Mela O Boimela with the respected person
Samyapiary Mahato (MLA,Manbazar assembly constituency) and Amiya Goswami
(Sabhapati, Manbazar-I Panchayet Samiti) got position Chairman and Secretary of
the Manbhum Mela O Boimela committee respectively.
History: A
few meeting were called by the newly organized body before commencement of the
Manbhum Mela O Boimela by the end of year 2003. The Circle Project coordinator
Manoroma Pal and 2nd resource teacher Nazrul Islam were not invited
and body member of that newly formation mela committee, because the resource
teachers were backed and re-joined to their respective schools from the post of
resource teacher.
Hence whom the arrangement of book fair was imposed, forgetting
the past and inspiration, he had done it publicly with the help of local body,
except D.P.O of Purulia was called as a chief guest on the inaugural day
of Boi-mela O Maa O Meye mela.No name
from office side was printed in the book of Boi-mela magazine till now, record
says.
Strange, Nazrul Islam is
called by the Manbhum Mela O Boimela committee meeting every year, but his name
is not recorded in their Boi-mela magazine any year, although juniors and new
comers are focused there. All Mela
committee members get their supplied Boi-mela megazin regular way except he, he
doesn’t know why, and what category is he!!
They didn’t forget to take the mela donation from him every year.
